Handicapped Accessibility

Peters has inspected and analyzed many buildings and sites for their compliance with the standards of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). These investigations of Places of Public Accomodation included both existing and newly constructed facilities such as:

Shopping Centers

Restaurants

Motels

Marinas

High Rise Structures

Streets and Sidewalks

The investigations were performed for individuals with disabilities looking for physical barriers to be removed as well as business and property owners who need to bring their premises into compliance with ADA regulations.

Peters has been a member of the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs’ Barrier Free Subcode Committee for over 30 years. This committee reviews proposed chages to the New Jersey Uniform Construction Code and makes recommendations to the department regarding the potential effects of such proposals to barrier free accessibility within buildings and sites.
